Event Details: THE LEADERSHIP COACHING SPECIALIST-  (LCS) PROGRAM

Our Leadership Coaching Specialist- program provides both formal training and experience in executive and business coaching.  Graduates of this program, who attend all training sessions totaling 20 hours of class time, complete all homework requirements, and successfully complete the written exam will be granted the LCS- designation from Xcellero Leadership, located in Naperville Illinois.

THE LCS- PROGRAM IS COMPRISED OF:

-20 hours* of leadership & executive coaching skill training.

    (15 hour in-person workshop plus 5 hours individual meetings/continued learning by telephone)

-25 hours of client-coaching experience with support from Mentor Coach, Director of Training

-Written competencies examination.

-Participants must attend all sessions (20 hours) to meet LCS® program requirements.

FORMAT & DELIVERY OF 20 HOURS OF TRAINING:

*The 20-hour training program is delivered by both in-person workshop and teleconference/telephone sessions as follows:

?In-Person:  2-day/15-hour in-person workshop, 

        Teleconference: plus 5 one-hour sessions via telephone (1 hour Continued Learning Session and 4 one-hour coaching sessions) 

                       = Total: 20 hours.

PREREQUISITES: 

-Brief interview with the President of Xcellero Leadership or the Director of Training.

-5-10 years corporate/business or professional human development experience

-Management experience preferred and recommended.

TRAINING OBJECTIVES & DESCRIPTIONS FOR THE 5 TRAINING MODULES (20 HOURS):

-Module 1: Coaching Self Awareness - Defining the field of Coaching, Best Practices and Code of Ethics of professional coaching - Participants will learn the history and positive psychology underpinnings of the coaching profession, definitions of coaching, distinctions between consulting, counseling, managing and coaching, what we mean by "Leadership Coaching", best practices & ethical guidelines of coaching, and the role of The International Coach Federation professional organization.

-Module 2: The Leadership Coaching Model and Process - Participants will experience and understand the following:  Defining and designing the Coach-Client alliance, the basic coaching model, the elements of the coaching conversation, i.e., listening for the right thing, the use of powerful questioning and purposeful inquiry, and identifying personal and professional skills, strengths and values resulting in empowering the client/employee. 

-Module 3: Coaching Tools for Developing Leaders - Participants observe demonstrations and gain experience in utilizing skills and techniques for forwarding the client's action, establishing accountability and fostering employee autonomy to enhance long-term successful outcomes.  The "5 Questions every leader begins with" are introduced and explained in addition to the impact & interaction of "Motivation & Leadership", and applying the concepts of Strengths Based Leadership.  Time is allocated for students to practice and apply coaching & leadership skills both during and outside of class.

-Module 4: Organizational Development Coaching - Students learn and take part in discussions regarding the value of skillful conflict management techniques plus how and when to utilize "Courageous Conversations".  Students will complete & gain knowledge in applying information gained from the following assessment tools: Strengths Based Leadership Assessment® and The DiSC® Personal Profile System, and the Conflict Management tool.

-Module 5: Organization Skills & Marketing - Participants will acquire knowledge and skills in how to integrate coaching in the organization and utilize the leadership coach approach in the workplace, how to align the coaching program with organizational goals and  get -buy-in from organizational decision makers, and how to foster the development of a completely coachable culture within the organization.
